EMERGENCY PLAN FOR SPILLS

1. Call 24-hr. Spills Action Centre: 1-800-268-6060
and call your local MOE office
2. Eliminate the Source
  • Stop the practice that you were doing
  • Shut down the appropriate valves and pumps
  • Make sure the system can't be restarted
  • If contacted by any media, make no comments.
  • Instead eliminate & contain spill for cleanup
3. Contain the Spill
  • If spill gets into tile drain, plug the tile at its outlet
  • If the spill is moving over ground surface, a berm should be constructed to temporarily stop the flow
